As a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity registered with the Federal Government, any donation, financial or otherwise can be tax exempt providing you a credit you can choose to use against your annual taxes due. For Tecate Horse Rescue, your donation makes the difference in how much we are able to accomplish. With 57 equines rescued as of November 2022 the bill to pay for the Alfalfa and Teff Hay needed is close to $10,000 per month. All of that must come from donations. Every feed bucket, water bucket, halter and lead rope needs to be either purchased with donated funds or donated. While many people agree with us that equines should be saved, most don't consider the costs to continue the saving. In 2022 the 56 equine we have saved have cost tens of thousands in urgently needed medical care and food, transport and farriers, and all the supplies needed to make it happen. Each equine in our care costs approximately $275 per month to sustain. That is if there are no medical emergencies. Can you donate? We would first ask that you consider donating on a regular basis. Ever $5.00 per month helps us to budget. If you can do more, please do. If you can't help monthly, please consider a onetime donation. 100% of whatever you donate is going directly to the care of these equines as we rehabilitate them, retraining as we are able and rehoming as many as possible with an adoption contract that specifies they are NOT to be any part of a breeding program, cannot be traded or sold and if it doesn't work they have a 100% return guarantee, the equine can be brought back to us and we will take it and care for it.
