We rescue at-risk horses, mules, donkeys and ponies. Our initial 64 rescues came directly from kill pens in Texas. in 2023 we began responding to local requests for assistance and have since taken in owner surrenders and locally abandoned horses. We rescue, rehabilitate and find forever homes for these equines while also involving them in Equine Assisted Education and Equine Assisted Therapy working with kindergarten through 12th grade children, first responders, veterans, disabled and others who benefit from these programs. Our active membership and community network also provide instruction and training including lessons, day camp, overnight destination rides and trail riding challenges to build better partnerships between new and veteran riders. We also have a hay subsidy program for those horse owners struggling on a short term basis and help to coordinate resources with horse owners in need. As we build our community and organization relationships we hope to join together with others of like-mind to increase awareness and action to stop horses, mules, ponies and donkeys from entering the slaughterhouse pipeline to begin with.
